We Belong

We Belong is a collective exhibition of artworks created by the community of The Other Checkbox.
The Other Checkbox is a community project funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation that explores otherness, feeling of belonging and representation of the different ethnic groups found in London.
All the pieces displayed in this exhibition were created during a programme of workshops that took place in the summer of 2022 in which participants explored their ethnic identity and the communities that they belong to through doll-making and various collective art-making activities.
This exhibition is a labour of love, and it celebrates the wealth of ethnic backgrounds that enrich our communities through the individual voices of all the participants.
