A collaboration between photographer Nicola Bensley and artist David Dipré began during lockdown 2020.
As all else stood still around them, they began to develop a body of work combining their disciplines.
They quickly developed a visual language reworking the silver gelatin prints – painting, scratching and drawing into the photographic surface.
Their most recent work sees the camera turned on themselves. In these images they have created a dreamlike environment in which they explore perceptions of surface, space, time and representations of the human form.

David studied painting at Camberwell College of Arts and the University of Central Lancashire. He has exhibited widely including in the John Moores Painting Prize and the National Portrait Gallery’s BP Portrait Award on three occasions. He has work in numerous private collections.
