Anna Keen was born on the Isle of Wight and brought up on Isle of Arran, leaving those wild landscapes she studied and painted for many years in Paris, Rome, Venice, London and Amsterdam. Her latest artworks are of London seen from the river with its constantly mutating, Babylonian-type skyline. She follows the Tidal Thames as it breathes out through the vastness of the Estuary all the way to the sea and back up into central London. Sketchbook in hand she specialises in ink on paper, then later in the art-studio uses oil on canvas. She seeks to transmit emotions visually, inspired by the reality and history of the striking places which attract her.
